Fantastic Head Vase MISS JAPAN from the Costume Girls’s set Headvase

Sooner or later, every serious headvase collector gets to the “strong urge” of putting together the extremely hard to come by and amazing “Costume Lady” series. What makes this grouping stand out from the rest is not only their intricate detailing and beauty, but the fact that regardless of the ethnic attire they wear, they are all “white” girls dressed up in costumes, they are not ethnic ladies nor fit in with the “ethnic headvases”.

They are nine known models in this set, this one obviously represents Japan in it’s full splendour. The colors on her Kimono with the lovely pastels in contrast to the very prominent and standout hairdo are just fabulous. This is the only one in the series that doesn’t come with any jewellery, with all the 24KT gold decorations she doesn’t really need any. This is a beautiful sculpture that stands on it’s own.

Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no crazing, extremely clean inside and out. Make up and paint everywhere is exquisite as it can be appreciated in the photos. The only thing I would mention for accuracy, is the little squiggle on the paint of her right eyelash which is only noticeable in my photos, not at all in person. Please keep in mind my photos are extreme close ups so any tiny thing becomes extremely exaggerated.

Measures 5-3/4' in height, is stamped on the bottom E-1611, Inarco, Cleve Ohio, dated 1964. Also has the foil black and gold Inarco, Japan label.

This is one outstanding example of this model to add to a collection, she truly is much more exquisite in person than my photos allow to show.
