This gorgeous item was released just before the Josef Originals company closed down, very few were produced making it VERY RARE and extremely hard to find.

The 1980's hosted the “rediscovery” of one of the foremost Art Deco pioneers, all the way back to the early 20th century, Rene Erte (in his 90's) and thanks to his amazing fashion designs and graphics being produced and reproduced in different medias in the midst of a lot of hoopla and recognition, it also marked the “rebirth” of Classic Art Deco, it’s influence was felt in just about any design form.

Several companies were happy reproducing “copies” of established pieces, but some artists found inspiration, took Art Deco classics, made them their own by giving them their own interpretation and in the process gave birth to a whole new world of 20th century Art Deco Classic collectibles.

Such is the case with this amazing porcelain sculpture and MUSIC BOX by Josef Originals, where the “Lady with Dog” classic theme was revived beautifully, but given the very unique Josef Original’s style... The movement, the flow, the expressions of both, Lady and Dog are wonderful making this piece a gem for both Art Deco, as well as Josef Original collectors.

Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no crazing, outstanding coloring and the music box is in perfect working condition, it plays the classic “I Could Have Danced all Night” from the Multi Tony Award Broadway Musical winner and Multi Academy Award (Oscar) winning film “My Fair Lady”.

Measures 7-1/2" in height, has the Josef originals signature incised on the bottom of the porcelain and has the Josef Originals foil label.
