The use of color, mainly red with the extra strikingly generous 24KT gold decorations from low glare to high gloss, over the purest of whites is just , JUST FABULOUS, making this piece a total standout, a very elegant standout, likely all dressed up for the Christmas Eve celebrations. The sweeping skirt showing off some her underskirt speckled in gold is a wonderful and nicely thought out detail, considering the simplicity of her outfit. The face on this piece is beautifully painted giving her a great expression.

There is a special warm look to the models that were created and made in California preceding the later ones made in japan.

The pedestal girls are unique as they are the only models in the whole Josef collection that are designed with a pedestal.

As with several Josef models, the detailing is just amazing. All the delicate hand applied detailing is just outstanding and as they were applied by hand, each little doll is perfectly unique.

Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks. The Gold is all there and looking wonderful, so bright and intact. The detailing in high relief, add so much dimension and sculpture. Crazing is expected on this early pieces and there is some, very little on her that is hardly visible unless looking for it under strong light with a magnifying glass, most of it is on the underside of the skirt and there isn’t much there either, It is all clean, clear, superficial, absolutely nothing out of line.

Measures 5-3/4" in height, is incised on the bottom with the Josef Originals, it is also stamped with the Josef Originals Logo. This is not only a hard to find piece in her own right, but these gals in general are very hard to find in great condition, this particular piece is as Mint as they come.

This is a beautiful series to collect, all the little gals have personalities of their own and they truly make an amazing display.
