We are always here to help and feel communication is the key. We try to give the best description possible of each item but sometimes you will have more questions. Who are we?
Aloha! My name is Jamee and Jonara Blu Maui is my fun little jewelry company stranded with me on the island of Maui :) I create fresh and funky beaded jewelry with an island twist but specialize in romantic, feminine beach wedding jewelry with an organic appeal.

I started creating my first jewelry pieces when only 9 years old. My babysitter would bring her beads to my house and let me bead along with her to my hearts content. Then one day she gave me the shoe box full of beading supplies and said they were mine to keep. I still remember the excitement I felt as the new owner of the little colorful candy like wonders. They brought me so much joy over the years and ever since then I have not lost my fascination for beads, gemstones and all things sparkly.

As a resident of Maui since 1992, I have appreciated the inspiration this beautiful island has played in my jewelry making hobby. It has brought me much joy and has been great therapy over the years...and even offered me the opportunity to do some part time work for another Maui artist while my son was a toddler. I have always been involved in some kind of art..whether drawing classes, pottery, or painting..I even taught chldrens art classes the first year I was married. Then about 8 years ago and with a little more experience under my belt in both technique and business, I ventured out and began creating jewelry for the public via local art galleries, boutiques and craft fairs...

and finally in May of 2003 I launched my online shop here at Ruby Lane.

Escaping into my little world of creating whenever possible, I find enjoyment and tranquility as I transform bits of earth and sea into beautiful, feminine (with just the right amount of funky) pieces of wearable art. Inspiration is easily found in the amazing island that surrounds me...sparkling rays of sunlight bouncing off the blue ocean, playful waves that toss about an array of colorful shells, green palm trees blowing in the trade winds, majestic and vibrant sunsets ... and of course all with the unique feminine touch every woman can appreciate.

I feel so fortunate that very often my jewelry can be seen delicately gracing the neckline of Maui's many beach brides, as well as women all over the world on one of the most special days of their life.

I welcome custom orders and promise to listen to your needs and communicate well...and hope to make a friend along the way :) Your order *will* be handled in a professional manner and with a personal touch.

Each piece of jewelry is strung with the utmost care and beads are hand-picked for quality. I've had fun creating and want you to have fun wearing my creations!

I had such fun opening all of the boxes--each one with a surprise goodie in it! It was like a birthday or Christmas; and I was a very jubilant opener!

Last week, when I brought Erin to the site and showed her all my goodies, she literally begged me for the beautiful Pomegranate necklace--so I had to part with it for her birthday (today). (You remember I had to get the special bridal earrings she wanted, too) No worries, though. There were so many favorites that I could wrap up the Pomegranate necklace for her with just a bit of wistfulness--knowing that she would be enjoying instead of me. I wore my absolute favorite Plum Forest set yesterday to run my errands. (Thank you so much for the extra special (and very generous) Plum forest treasures you included!) Today, I wore the lovely Paua silk cord knotted necklace with the matching Paua dangles to Erin's birthday dinner. She raved about how beautiful they were and how lovely they looked on me. Then, when she got her Pomegranate necklace, she gave me the most wonderful, appreciative smile (her eyes filling with tears); and that let me know that I was right to part with them.

You have left us with the grins of exceedingly happy customers. No doubt you will be seeing us again!
