CUTE teapot from Frankoma Potteries which was located in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. With colors of matte green and brown, this pattern is known as “Prairie Green”. The company was founded in 1938 by John Frank along with his wife, Grace Lee. They arrived at the name “Frankoma” by combining Franks’ last name with the last letters of Oklahoma. This color line was introduced by the company in 1947.
This teapot appears to be made from Sapulpa Clay, 1957-1980, which comes from the same area as the company was located. The pot is in excellent, shiny condition all around with no chips, cracks or repairs to be found. It measures 7” from tip of spout to handle, stands about 4 ˝” tall and is stamped on the bottom of the pot “Frankoma 6 J”.
