German Kling Antique Bisque Shoulder Head Doll

This 17 inch tall doll has a bisque shoulder head with molded blond hair and painted facial features. The old body, possibly original, is cloth and leather with bisque lower arms and hands. The back of the head is incised “Germany//186-6.” The head is in excellent condition with not chips, cracks, or repairs. The body has some leather repairs especially at the gussets. The head was created by the C. F. Kling German porcelain factory in the 1890s and has excellent first out of the mold deep modeling. The painting is also quite artistically done, The white spots on the eyes are simply reflections from the camera flash and not worn paint. She would look wonderful dressed as a young girl. She comes to the new owner just as she is with no clothing or underclothing. Hopefully, when she is adopted, she will be provided with some lovely clothing that will show off her innocence and beauty.
