SALE Painted Bisque (Parian) German Shoulder Head Doll Head with Blue Ribbon

This German painted bisque shoulder head has beautiful deeply molded blonde hair adorned with a blue ribbon and tied in a bow. She has painted facial features with gorgeous blue eyes. The hair style is relatively intricate in design with numerous curls and exposed well sculpted ears. The head has no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is some very minor rubbing to a couple of the curls on the back of the head. I believe the photos show how minor this is. The head is 6 inches tall. From shoulder to shoulder, she measures 4 ¼ inches. The width of the shoulder plate from front to back is 3 1/8 inch at the widest point. This head would make a gorgeous doll or she is wonderful as a beautiful sculpture displayed just as she is. I love to hold this head and just feel the marvelous artistic sculpting of the hair and ears. In my opinion, these painted bisque heads from the second half of the 19th century are unrivaled by anything being created today.
