This 19 inch tall doll is a rare large size of this great character Oriental doll by the German firm of Simon & Halbig. She retains her original body and wig. Her silk underclothing may also be original to her. She has a most wonderful brunette wig in original set and first out of the mold modeling of her facial features. Her olive complexion is flawless and her composition jointed body, while exhibiting some wear, also retains its original olive tone finish. She also wears an antique green print fabric dress that is appropriate for her exotic appearance. She is fully marked on the back of her head as Simon & Halbig doll mold 1199. Her eyes still sleep and she has an open mouth with her original teeth. She has no chips, cracks, or repairs. Any lines you might see on the bisque are most likely errant hairs. I did not try to remove all of the glue on her head from the original securing of her wig as I did not want to create any wig pulls or damage to the doll bisque. Also, I did not attempt to remove her lovely silk underclothing as it is quite delicate and I did not want to cause any damage to the fibers. I was able to move the fabric around enough to inspect the condition of the body however. This is a marvelous doll with the greatest character modeling. I have never owned one in this large size before. She is really magnificent.
