LAYAWAY Eden Bebe – antique French bisque doll made by Fleishmann & Blodel, Paris 1890-99. This is a beautiful 17" example with a perfect bisque socket head, dark blue paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, thick brush stroked eyebrows, closed mouth, pierced ears, antique human hair French wig in the long deluxe style on her original cork pate.. Her body is French composition with its original finish and she is in overall excellent condition.

She is costumed in the extravagant French Bebe style. Her dress is made of silk and satin, her hat pearl encrusted. Her earrings are antique red glass beads. Her French leather shoes have a hot air balloon on the sole and Paris. One sole is missing. I have not removed her costume as it is well fitted to her with some fragile fabrics that I do not wish to damage. A solid French wood and composition body is apparent. She has a lively personality and the charming presence of a young French girl. She would be a great addition to or start of a French bebe collection.
