Here is an example of the early 1920s Lenci doll with the short eyebrows and mitten hands of the early period. He was featured in an article in Doll World February 1993 by Kerra Davis titled: "Identifying the Early Unmarked Lenci".. His picture is shown in the article and it can be provided to the buyer. I believe his costume to be a replica as despite the Doll World article I do not see it as an original Lenci made costume. It is made of cotton and cotton flannel. This unmarked doll has the foot shape and square zig-zag stitching of early Lenci as the pictures show. He is 18" tall. He has a human hair wig sewn on in rows as is characteristic of Lenci. I am not positive about the wigs originality. His very reasonable price reflects these issues. He is nonetheless a delightful boy who would make a nice addition to a Lenci or cloth collection or on his own.
