This wonderful pair of cloth sculpted dolls have delicate embroidered faces with great detail.and yarn hair. Their costumes are all original and very authentic to their ethnicity. The woman has a handmade organdy dress with elaborate embroidery. She has coral glass jewelry and high heeled cloth shoes. The man is dressed more simply in a handmade linen “peasant” outfit with sandals. Their hands and feet are sculpted. As the pictures show they are slightly age soiled. They were identified by the auction house as Mexican, but a knowledgeable collector suggests that they may be costumed in the style of the Philippines instead. Circa 1930-1940
