Forget about stocks!! Buy antique dolls instead.
Her bisque is high quality and flawless aside from a small wig pull at the back of her head that is shown in one of the pictures. She has slightly rosy cheeks, carefully drawn eyebrows and lashes and a delicate mouth in Kestner’s style that has the open-closed look of slightly parted lips. Her eyes are paperweight and original to her. She wears an antique mohair wig that may be original.
Her dress is an early cotton fabric with a delicate lilac flower on cream background. Her high quality antique shoes are elaborately adorned with buckles and accents and have a capital H on the soles, a mark Handwerck used.
Her body is near mint with six balls at the joints. It is marked in red with the Kestner trademark on the back – “Excelsior”.
She is one of those dolls who is even appealing without her wig, as shown, because of the quality of her bisque and modeling. This happy little girl would be a lovely addition to your collection with her unique character look. At 13" she is the sought after cabinet size we all seem to want. She is a great example to me of "King Kestner" and the appeal of his early dolls.
