This 11 inch tall German porcelain head doll, circa the 1860s, is simply breathtaking. She is an early thick paste pressed head doll with cloth body and wooden lower arms and legs. She wears a lovely silk dress that, I believe, is probably original to her. The silk of the dress is starting to melt and is far too frail to remove from the doll. This 4 ¼ inch tall china head, circa the 1860s, is a lovely example by the German Kestner Doll firm. She has a hairstyle with a headband adorned with gold metallic paint.
