A Stunning Combination of Pale Blue Peruvian Opals & Hessonite Garnets

This necklace is an accidental pairing of wonderful, plump Peruvian blue opal briolettes and Aurora Borealis treated hessonite garnets. The minute that I saw them together I was delighted with the combination. Hessonite garnets are not red, as you think of garnets. They are honey brown and gold. The blue, green and gold flashes on the garnets are dazzling and bring out the color in these pale blue and brown opals, the largest of which are about 16mm. The hessonite garnet rondelles are about 5mm. I used 5mm round and shiny gold filled beads to jazz things up a bit. The gold filled lobster claw clasp finishes off the piece.

This necklace measures approximately 17 ½ " long, from end to end when open. It is really a piece of jewelry that will blend with many colors and styles.
