I have always liked figural pins and this Foiled Confetti Glass belly reminds me of a Peacock. The Swarovski Rhinestones I used are Tourmaline Aurora Borealis color, Indian Sapphire color, Tourmaline color, Chrysolite, Emerald color & Montana. The largest Navettes are Vintage Czech Machine Cut and are Emerald color & Montana color. For the belly I used a 1960s Blue & Green Foiled Confetti Glass stone. It measures 2 7/8" x 2" and is Gold Plated. Unworn condition.
For the last 10 years I have been setting up at shows and also selling online. Like most in the Vintage Jewelry business, I too am obsessed with the allure and Quality of these pieces! For quite some time I have been interested in the construction of Vintage Costume Jewelry and always knew I would like to design and make quality pieces, reminiscent of the 1950s.
I have been buying Vintage Swarovski stones for about 8 years and I wanted to use only the very best in my Jewelry. I also use unique and colorful Vintage Art Glass stones.
Unlike most of the Jewelry of today, each of my pieces have prong-set stones and settings that are soldered by hand. I strive to construct only high quality Jewelry AND at an affordable price. This process is very expensive and time consuming; sometimes 1 stone can cost $5+ each and a set can take 15 or more hours to complete!
With minimal care, each Work of Art is hand crafted to last many decades to come. Not only a piece of wearable Art, but an Investment for the future.
