Jewelry with an attitude!
This double-sided pendant is substantial in weight... about 21 grams of silver... and measures about 2" by 1 1/2". The pendant was created using textured strips of silver clay, wrapped over a pure silver tube (also PMC) and then woven beautifully on both sides. I added (on one side) a pure silver "quilled" spiral - a fun little rosette effect. I then finished with a liver-of-sulfur and ammonia solution to create the wild and vibrant colors.
The back of the piece is as detailed as the front! This is a one-of-a-kind creation! I have added a heavy 18" sterling silver snake chain.
This pendant is featured in Hadar Jacobson's "The Handbook of Metal Clay" book.
Holly Thompson is certified in Precious Metal Clay (Guild Certification and PMC Connection Levels 1 through 4) and Art Clay Silver.
