This clever tool was copyrighted in 1910 and used for measuring the chest or bust area by an Edwardian era tailor. The chipboard fits under the right arm of the person being measured and the measuring tapes are spread out around the body, one to the front, one to the back. Called the Queen City Tailor System, this one was from the company Smith & Ferguson in Cincinnati, Ohio. The name May Davis is handwritten on the back, she was probably the seamstress or tailor this belonged to. The tapes are connected to the chipboard with eyelets. This unique device is in very good condition and could still be very useful in garment construction.
