Matisse Open-Work Copper & White Enamel Modernist Earrings--Three Layers

These Matisse earrings are a three-layer confection of modernistic style. Each earring starts out with a copper navette shape coated with smooth, shiny enamel. Next is a tapered curve of copper with just a hint of scalloping along the inner and outer edges and a strip of antiquing on one side. This is topped with another tapered copper curve, this one with rectangular cut-outs that show the antiqued portion of the copper piece below. A rivet with a shiny copper sphere top attaches the layers to the back of the enameled piece. These beautiful earrings truly have a lot going on!

Earrings are 1" north-south by ½" east-west. They are about about ¼" deep. Both are marked "Matisse" in script on the clip mechanism. Except for a nick on the metal of the clip mechanism of one earring, there is very little wear and they are in excellent vintage condition.
