Art Deco Style Gold Tone Mesh, Rhinestone Collar Necklace, Earrings by Gem-Craft

This classic Art Deco style demi-parure was made by Craft (aka Gem-Craft). This company began in 1948. Besides their own designs, they have also produced jewelry for other companies such as Kenneth J. Lane, Kramer, and Cadoro. I believe this quality set was made after 1960. The gleaming gold-tone metal mesh collar is worn around the base of the throat. The supple beauty of the collar is enhanced by the central plaque--an oval black plastic cabochon flanked by half moons made of clear round and baguette rhinestones. The matching clip earrings repeat the black cab and half moon design. Dramatic and classic!

Collar is 15" long. Mesh is just under ¾" wide and 1/8" thick. Central plaque is just under 1 ½" north-south by ¾" east-west by ¼" deep. Fold-over clasp works well. Earrings are ¾" north-south by a little over ¾" east-west and ¼" deep. Standard clip mechanisms work well. Each earring is signed "CRAFT" in an oval cartouche followed by a copyright symbol. Necklace is unsigned but obviously matches earrings. All stones are glued in. These pieces appear to have been worn very little, if at all, and they are in excellent vintage condition.
