Victorian Hand-Painted Porcelain Rosebush Brooch

This lovely pin was hand-painted by some well-bred young Victorian lady one idle afternoon, as it was fashionable back then to indulge in crafts such as china painting, needlework, and other decorative arts. This one had a particular knack for painting roses, and here is a particularly well-executed coral-colored cluster of full blooms, mounted on a brass pinback and well cared for over the years. The brooch measures 2-1/4" tall x 1-5/8" high and is in excellent condition, with no cracks or fading.
