Victorian Black Opal Glass, Brass & Rhinestone Brooch

This is a tough piece to date ~ it clearly has age on it, what with the rich patina on the metal, the old-fashioned C-clasp, and the old cut of the rhinestones, yet the style and size make it appear to be a later piece. It has 15 large black opal glass navettes, each tipped with a 4mm rhinestone, and a black opal oval in the center surrounded by a ring of the same rhinestones. Measuring a sizeable 2" x 2-1/2", it'll be a stunner on a black formal in the holiday season to come! Condition is excellent.
