Victorian Pave Turquoise and Pearl Fleur De Lis Brooch

This early Victorian brooch features bright turquoise stones pave set into a silver scroll, which is riveted onto an elaborately engraved Fleur De Lis shape. Imagine clasping you favorite scarf or sweater with this eye catching jewel! The safety clasp is a newer addition. It appears that there used to be a dangling chain (note jump ring) which could have led to a tiny safety pin which tethered the brooch to one's blouse in the event of the brooch clasp coming undone inadvertently. This is how they used to safeguard a brooch prior to the safety clasp was invented. You could add a charm to it or have it removed if desired. It measures 1 7/8" by 7/8". It is unmarked but tests 14k gold.
