"Jargoon" is a very old term used for White Zircon, a natural stone. Zircons are highly refractive and display like rose cut diamonds. They have that subtle sparkle and steely grey mirror like shine. This large brooch was probably made to embellish the bodice of a dress. Some of these embellishments covered a large section of the lady's bodice, hence the name "stomacher". This piece is 800 silver and hand wrought. There are no stones missing, though the center stone of the flower was re-set. If you collect the very old and unusual, this brooch will delight you!
