14k Gold Victorian Snake Chain with White Enamel Slide 30.6 grams!

This slinky, sensual chain features an unusual white enamel slide! At 54" in length, it is meant to be worn doubled around the neck. It has a loop at the end which could suspend a locket, but it looks complete as worn also. Judging from the plump rococo shaped slide with its banner of enamel, I believe it to be of the early Victorian period, circa 1860. The enamel is in excellent condition. If you wish the slide to stay up at various positions on the chain, a small bit of cork inserted into it will do the trick. The chain has some glitches in the link, presumably from catching on the edge of the slide, but it is not noticeable when worn. This is a good, heavy chain at 30.6 grams (about one ounce!)
