These early rings are loaded with character and beauty. I believe that the hallmarks correspond with Birmingham 1848 date. The ring was carefully sized and has lost a hallmark, but a capitol Z in a square stamp with the corners cut off remains (the date mark for Birmingham 1848) This ring certainly fits the description of an early Victorian ring, with the ribbon detailing in profile and the fact that shank is hand engraved all the way around. There is also a 15 and 625, which represents 15k gold, and the makers initials. It appears that one turquoise was replaced. It is in excellent condition and is about a size 7 1/2.
