Victorians loved sentimental jewelry! Romantic symbols were used often in Georgian and Victorian jewelry. When a key or padlock was given, this meant that the receiver held the key to the giver's heart and happiness. I imagine that such gifts were not bestowed casually! This sweet Victorian ring speaks of a simpler time, when good craftmanship was the norm! The details are so fine and crisp, even after a century. The ruby paste stone is in pristine condition, and in fact the entire ring appears to have barely any wear. Imagine the delight of the young woman who received this ring as a gift from a loved one so long ago! It is a sizable 7 1/2. It is unmarked, but sold to me as 14k.

What could be more pleasing than antique turquoise cabochons? Pave turquoise cabochons! Although this ring is circa 1840's, it certainly has a modern flair. The wall to wall color is so enticing. It looks great when worn with other Victorian rings. I have a garnet ring which looks so great next to it- but I can't keep everything! This ring is a size 6 1/2.
