Victorian Earrings and Brooch with Garnet Paste, circa 1890

$165 USDVictorian Earrings and Brooch with Garnet Paste, circa 1890

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This sweet demi parure is in excellent condition! Toward the late Victorian period, earrings became a little daintier and the bar pin was the rage! This set is in gold fill and looks almost new! The earrings measure 1 1/4" in length and the brooch is 2 1/4" long. The gold surface is a warm pink gold, which perfectly sets off the garnet paste stones. The stones are free of chips or scratches. The earrings have their original wires and are the perfect size for everyday wear.
Elegant 12k Gold Victorian Black Jet and Pearl Pendant

$250 USDElegant 12k Gold Victorian Black Jet and Pearl Pendant

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
Long and lovely, this antique pendant will flatter your neck! This pendant is circa 1870, when women wore black all the time due to stringent mourning conventions. Since the untimely death of Victoria's beloved Price Albert, women were expected to wear mourning jewelry and dress whenever a family member passed, which was frequent. There was a social code which dictated how much black a woman was to wear, depending on the relation to the family member who died and how long it had been since the ...
SALE Early Victorian 16k Gold Memorial Brooch, Pearl Border and original Tin Type Photo, Opens

$350 USD SaleSALE Early Victorian 16k Gold Memorial Brooch, Pearl Border and original Tin Type Photo, Opens!

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Mourning
This all original memorial brooch contains a hand tinted tin type 19th century photo, a scrap of the pictured gentleman's suit, and a piece of the jewelers advertisement card backing the photo inside! The lettering reminds me of wild west "wanted"posters! The condition is excellent. All pearls appear to be original and have fabulous luster. I love the settings, similar to cut down collets, but with many prong like ridges. The photo is clear and crisp. It has a slight crease near the bottom, but ...
SALE Beautiful Victorian Split Pearl Crown Brooch 14k

$165 USD SaleSALE Beautiful Victorian Split Pearl Crown Brooch 14k

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This lovely brooch meant "You are the Queen of my heart" when given to a lady back in Victoria's time. Circa 1890, the influence of Art Nouveau is clearly seen in the flowing lines of this brooch. The tiny split pearls are all present and have beautiful luster. It measures 1 1/8" by 7/8" and is solid gold and retains its original c clasp.
Victorian Tassel Necklace, 22 grams Solid Gold

$1,175 USDVictorian Tassel Necklace, 22 grams Solid Gold

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
I just adore the feel of a slinky Victorian tassel! This most impressive necklace is Victorian, and so indicative of the Grand Period. The jewelry was bold and beautiful and had an almost modern flair, so much so that sometimes can be mistaken for Deco period by the less trained eye. This piece has an unusual 18k gold shield motif. Note the lovely rosy patina on the reverse. Yes, after a century even gold will tarnish, especially in the areas where parts have been soldered together. Better ...
Heaven's Sweetest Cherub! Georgian or Victorian Enamel Ring Gold and Pearl

$1,400 USDHeaven's Sweetest Cherub! Georgian or Victorian Enamel Ring Gold and Pearl

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine
The colors are vibrant, the enameling astounding! The dark background of this enamel miniature really sets off this darling image! Having done enameling myself, early enamel jewelry like this charming example truly impress me. These are lost techniques, which are unlikely to ever to replicated. I have never before seen the use of cloisonne wire and firy toned transparent enamel in combination with the matt black background and pastels. The swirling fabric which encompasses the cherub suggests ...
Victorian Gold Filled Earring and Brooch Demi with Fringe Dangles!

$225 USDVictorian Gold Filled Earring and Brooch Demi with Fringe Dangles!

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This circa 1875 rich gold filled set looks like high karat gold at a fraction of the price! I love Victorian fringed jewelery, and the tapered dangles are so flattering to the face! The brooch is in original condition and the earrings have later added screwbacks. My jeweler can replace them with 14k shepard's hooks neatly attached to the reverse of the earring with small gold domes for $40. It would be less for gold fill wires. The earrings are 1 3/4" long and the brooch is 2" long. They are in ...
Circa 1810 Georgian Royal Blue Enamel and Marcasite Ring

$285 USDCirca 1810 Georgian Royal Blue Enamel and Marcasite Ring

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian
This Regency era ring is so simple and elegant! It's low profile makes it so easy to wear! The graceful reeded shank is 10k yellow gold and the enamel is on silver surrounded by sparkling marcasites. Marcasites were used as a diamond substitute in the Georgian era- in low lighting they mimicked rose diamonds very well. The enamel has been worn to a soft matte finish which is actually quite attractive. There are no chips or gouges, just light even scratches from decades of wear. In the center of ...
Victorian Pave Turquoise and Pearl Fleur De Lis Brooch

$225 USDVictorian Pave Turquoise and Pearl Fleur De Lis Brooch

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This early Victorian brooch features bright turquoise stones pave set into a silver scroll, which is riveted onto an elaborately engraved Fleur De Lis shape. Imagine clasping you favorite scarf or sweater with this eye catching jewel! The safety clasp is a newer addition. It appears that there used to be a dangling chain (note jump ring) which could have led to a tiny safety pin which tethered the brooch to one's blouse in the event of the brooch clasp coming undone inadvertently. This is how ...
Victorian Austro Hungarian Silver Brooch with Pearl and Turquoise

$150 USDVictorian Austro Hungarian Silver Brooch with Pearl and Turquoise

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This darling brooch has it all- turquoise, pearls and a dangling heart! It bears hallmarks which indicate its origin- the dog head and capitol A for Austria. It is silver with a gold gilding, which has mellowed with age. A few of the tiny turquoise appear to be possible replacements (the paler blue?) but overall, this brooch is in very good condition. It measures 1 1/2" across and 1 1/4" long. Very sweet!
Nouveau Sterling Silver Cigar Cutter Fob, Entwined Snakes!

$75 USDNouveau Sterling Silver Cigar Cutter Fob, Entwined Snakes!

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Art Nouveau
This Art Nouveau cigar cutter features entwined snakes in repose. It is in working condition and is 1 1/2" long, 1 3/4" including the bale. It has been repaired (see solder around the rivet- could be buffed out and polished) and has some denting, but the snake motif is wonderful- a perfect gift for the cigar enthusiast! It is stamped sterling on the top.
Late Victorian Clover Charm Gold

$65 USDLate Victorian Clover Charm Gold

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This beautiful little clover charm was given to bring luck to its wearer. It is lightweight and made of two halves of embossed solid gold sheet soldered together to form a sculptural clover. $595 USDVictorian Cameo of Ceres, Goddess of fertility / Harvest

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Brooch
This cameo is truly exceptional! She was carved with the skill of a master in his craft. The detail is superb in every way, from her springy tresses to the minute pearls of her necklace. The subjects of Victorian cameos were often drawn from Greek mythology. Ceres relentlessly searched heaven and earth for her ...

SOLDSOLD Best Georgian Blue Zircon Jargoon Turban or Shoulder Pin

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian
Recaptured chic! During the late Georgian period, the Turban pin was all the rage. Hats resembling turbans were worn, embellished by beautiful pins encrusted with diamond like natural Zircon stones. These are rose cut and pale blue in color. It is an unusually large size, over 4 1/2" long 1 1/2" wide at the top. SOLD Victorian Black Enamel and Pearl Tassel Pendant

SOLDSOLD Victorian Black Enamel and Pearl Tassel Pendant

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
The tassel motif was so popular during the Victorian era. Large and showy, they feel so nice that it is hard to keep ones hands off of them! This pendant used to be a brooch, and was neatly converted long ago. The black Taille d Epergne black enamelling is typical of the 1870's- 1880's period. It is 3" in length. Although it looks like solid gold, I believe it is a heavy rolled gold. This would be the perfect pendant for your next holiday gathering!
SOLD Scarce 18th century Spanish Emerald and Gold Pendant Drop

SOLDSOLD Scarce 18th century Spanish Emerald and Gold Pendant Drop

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian
This rich high karat yellow gold pendant drop has the most beautiful emerald in the center. It is circa 1770 and was a part of a larger jewel in the past. The central emerald is so clear and green that I thought it might be paste, but my gemologist stated that it is indeed a natural emerald. It does have an inclusion deep within the stone, but normally emeralds have more inclusions throughout. The hand sawn filigree is exquisite and typical of this time period. The large round indentation on the ...
SALE PENDING 14K Victorian Garnet and Rose Cut Diamond Ring

$175 USD Sale PendingSALE PENDING 14K Victorian Garnet and Rose Cut Diamond Ring

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This pretty ring is perfect for the Autumn and holiday season! It is so typically Victorian, circa 1880's, with a pink gold setting so big and bold! The Garnet was a favorite stone during the Victorian era. The head of the ring is just shy of 3/4" in length. The ring is a sizable 5.25. There is some wear to the stones, seen upon very close inspection, but it looks beautiful when worn. There is wear to the smaller prongs, but the stone does not move.

SOLD Large but Lightweight Victorian Dangling Gold Earrings

SOLDSOLD Large but Lightweight Victorian Dangling Gold Earrings

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
These earrings have so much presence, yet are so kind to the ear! This type of earring was popular during the Mid Victorian period, when long dangling earrings were all the rage. They are made of thin gold sheet, which is polished and engraved on the fronts. They were inevitably made of several parts, layered and connected by simple rivets or cotter pins. These earrings feature a glass "stone" which is unusual. It is hard to photograph, but the glass disc appears to have a clear cone shape set ...
SOLD Sumptuous Georgian 18th Century large Rose Cut Diamond Ring!

SOLDSOLD Sumptuous Georgian 18th Century large Rose Cut Diamond Ring!

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian
Georgian rings which have large diamonds are very hard to come by, especially with clear stones with intact foils! Diamond rings like this one were owned by the wealthy in the Georgian Period, so there weren't many to begin with. We can only imagine the delight of the lovely lady who received this token of her man's affection over two centuries ago. How it sparkled as they danced by candlelight! This ring glitters in a way in which only antique foiled diamonds can. The passing of two centuries ...
SALE PENDING Dainty Turquoise Clover Motif Victorian Gold earrings, 14k

$125 USD Sale PendingSALE PENDING Dainty Turquoise Clover Motif Victorian Gold earrings, 14k

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
These little beauties would be ideal for everyday wear. They are circa 1890 and in perfect condition. They are a warm yellow gold and feature the clover motif which was a popular good luck symbol of the time. I have viewed the stones under a loupe and think that they are actually paste turquoise, which would also explain why they are still perfectly matched in color. After many years, some antique turquoise will turn green and not match their neighboring stones. They measure 11/16" including the ...
SOLD Large Early Victorian Garnet Seed Pearl Pendant c. 1840

SOLDSOLD Large Early Victorian Garnet Seed Pearl Pendant c. 1840

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Fine:Victorian:Pendant
This beautiful pendant has an asymmetrical, Rococo design and features rose cut garnets and a single seed pearl. This piece was made by the electroforming process, invented in 1840. This is not to be mistaken for electroplating. There is no base metal under the gold, but there is the wax model which the metal was deposited on. (more about this process is explained in Jeannine Bells book Old jewelry 1840- 1950) Unlike the stamped hollow jewelry of its time, the wax core of the electroformed ...
SALE PENDING Victorian 14k Gold Chain, 31" Long watch chain

$395 USD Sale PendingSALE PENDING Victorian 14k Gold Chain, 31" Long watch chain

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This glowing gold chain is beautifully made and so Victorian! The double hoop link is one of my personal favorites. It has crisp detail and seems to glitter! This chain was tested by my jeweler who determined it to be 14k solid gold with a high karat gild, hence the reason it appears to be the color of 18k. The watch chain holder is 10k. You could have your jeweler shorten it to any length you want, or solder a clasp on which opens. A tube style clasp would look great. This chain weighs 11 grams ...

SOLD Huge 5" Long Georgian Stomacher Brooch, Jargoons!

SOLDSOLD Huge 5" Long Georgian Stomacher Brooch, Jargoons!

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian
This brooch makes quite a statement when worn on that little black dress! It would also look striking on a lapel. "Jargoon" is a very old term used for White Zircon, a natural stone. Zircons are highly refractive and display like rose cut diamonds. They have that subtle sparkle and steely grey mirror like shine. This large brooch was probably made to embellish the bodice of a dress. Some of these embellishments covered a large section of the lady's bodice, hence the name "stomacher". This piece ...
SOLD Early Victorian Pave Turquoise, Pearl and Ruby Dome Ring 14k Gold

SOLDSOLD Early Victorian Pave Turquoise, Pearl and Ruby Dome Ring 14k Gold

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
What could be more pleasing than antique turquoise cabochons? Pave turquoise cabochons! Although this ring is circa 1840's, it certainly has a modern flair. The wall to wall color is so enticing. It looks great when worn with other Victorian rings. I have a garnet ring which looks so great next to it- but I can't keep everything! This ring is a size 6 1/2. I don't recommend sizing it due to the delicate hollow construction of the head of the ring, and the fact that the stones are set far into ...

Goldstone is a man made substance which is not stone, but glass peppered with shiny copper flecks.
