I love old sifters and this Foley Sift-Chine is one of my favorites! This charming flour sifter is in very good condition with only light indications of use. The mechanics of the sifter function perfectly. As the name implies, it has three screens and three agitators. It measures 5 7/8" tall at the spout and 5" in diameter. Here is a fascinating old kitchen tool. Elegantly simple, this flour sifter was made in Germany and it works as well today as the day it was made. The agitator and the screen are both firmly attached and the action is free and smooth. The sifter is stamped in German, "Das Einhand Mehlsieb", which means "the hand flour sifter". Here is a fascinating, primitive 5 cup Duplex flour sifter. Patented in 1922, the sifter has lids on both the top and the bottom for storing flour that will be sifted. The sifter is in very good condition with very little denting, moderate wear to the outside surface, and a small area where the screen is pulling away from the edge.
