Screenprint on paper, EXTREMELY CLEAN AND FRESH, 26" by 36", unframed but protected in plexiglas holder, signed at lower right and numbered 86/125 at lower left. The works of the artist, ILYA BOLOTOWSKY (1907-1981), are in major museums throughout America and the world. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and died in New York. Today he's recognized for works in a number of media, including sculpture, murals, printmaking, and oils. His work in cubism, early modernism, geometric abstraction, and Op Art seems to me to be very undervalued. Paintings have sold to at least the $20,000 level at Sotheby's. Perhaps, to address his underrated reputation, the highly regarded Gerald Peters Gallery of New York is holding an exhibition of his works. The present print is quite large and is very clean, though the paper is a bit wavy especially at top. There is no mat burn or other discoloration and the paper is extremely white. If you have a mid century modern interior, you can hardly go wrong by adding such a classy work to the mix. Shipping will be easy and low risk due to the protective plastic box. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. See the net for much more on the artist. SEE HUNDREDS OF WORKS NOW IN MY SHOP.
