Watercolor on paper, 11 3/8" by 8 1/2" inside the mat, 17 1/2" by 14" as framed, signed at lower right "NRawson". This is a work by listed American late 19th century artist NAIRNE RAWSON (1848-?), listed in a number of reference works including Falk's Who Was Who in American Art. The artist was an exhibitor at the Art Institute of Chicago and the National Academy of Design in 1892. This work no doubt dates to that period. The artist was known for his figures in interiors, according to the askart website listing. This is in excellent, clean condition with no foxing or other flaws.
