Oil on canvas of a woman in 1940's style clothing with plumed hat, 24" by 20" with 2 1/2" frame, signed on reverse and inscribed "Saffran-Frances/Brackman, afternoon". This is an impressionistic, skilfully painted work by the noted American painter ROBERT BRACKMAN, highly regarded for his portraits, still life, and figural works. The artist's paintings sell to the $20,000 area at major New York auctions. This work could be of his wife. I imagine it was painted circa 1960's or 1970's, judging from the materials, so, it's probably a nostalgic "retro" work. I believe a little research would establish more details about the sitter. The painting is in excellent condition and is ready for the wall. Frame is a bit uninspiring so you might wish to reframe. Call me to learn more. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
