This is a very pleasing country landscape (9 3/4" by 13 3/4" inside the mat, 16 1/2" by 20 1/4" as framed), executed in watercolor on paper by listed 20th century British artist F.L. BLANCHARD. Though there are a number of auction records for this artist, in England, and mostly for marine and maritime subjects dating from 1900 to as late as 1932, there seems to be otherwise little to be known about him or her. The watercolor is in excellent condition and is ready for the wall. Affixed to the original sealed wood backing is a label from an early twentieth century London art dealer.
