MIxed media on paper laid on board (gouache, watercolor, maybe thinned oil?), 9 1/2" by 13 1/4" (12 3/4" by 16 3/4" as framed), signed at lower left "E. Caser". The subject is a landscape with trees and a tiny lone horse and rider at right center. The painting has some condition issues. There is a brownish stain in sky at top center and also small two digs surrounded by discoloration in the sky below that, as well as a disturbed area in green tree at left. The paper is somewhat yellowed and aged; viewed up close, the disturbed areas are actually creases or bubbling of the paper where it is no longer in contact with the board beneath. Email me for more photos/closeups, etc. The artist was born in Venice, Italy. The artist is most closely associated with the New York area, as a painter, muralist, printmaker/graphic artist. His subject matter is unusually varied. Caser exhibited at the Panama Pacific Exposition in 1915, at the Pennsylvania Academy, and at the National Academy. In 1945 a memorial exhibition of his work was held at the prestigious Grand Central Art Galleries. SEE HUNDREDS OF PAINTINGS/PRINTS NOW IN ;MY SHOP.
