Pastel on paper, 16" by 11 3/4" inside the mat, (21" by 17" as framed), unsigned, depicting an American Indian chief of the Plains or Rockies area. This is a professionally executed work and I'm sure it's by a listed artist. Probably executed in the past 30 years or so, it's in excellent condition with no loss of pastel due to contact with glass, no foxing, no moisture problems. Peeling the high quality Canson paper away from the mat, it appears that the paper hidden by the mat is grayish, while the exposed part is tan.........perhaps the paper faded from UV light but the pastel didn't. If you're a collector of native or western Americana looking for a very decorative and attractive painting of an indian, consider this piece.
