Oil on canvas, 27" by 18 1/2" (34" by 26" as framed) by well listed National Academician Lenard Kester. Kester was a familiar name on the California and national art scene for many decades; he achieved associate status in the National Academy by 1958 and was made a full academician in 1994, shortly before his death. Kester was a Disney artist for many years, painting backgrounds for the Hollywood film industry. This painting, which I have titled myself, shows a man and a woman in conversation, interestingly framed between two types of flowers and platters of fruit sitting on a foreground table.....a very complex and interesting composition by an obviously talented artist, the works of whom have appeared at Butterfields auction.
