Oil on panel, 12" by 15 3/4" ( 22" by 26 1/2" as framed), signed boldly at lower right by noted duck painter ROBERT "BOB" RICHERT (1947-), and dated there 1983. This is a very detailed, finely executed painting of a male wood duck in full glory, by an artist known for his depiction of waterfowl. See Richert's biography on line, which mentions his love for the outdoors and conservation related causes, and his efforts in those directions, as well as awards he has won for his art, such as being chosen as the 1982 winner of the California Duck Stamp competition. On the reverse is a penned inscription to the previous owner of this work, a Mr. Porter Washington, a Ducks Unlimited member who was married into the well known Doheny family of Los Angeles. As the painting has been protected behind glass, it is in superb condition. You might consider removing the glass or reframing so as to best be able to appreciate the fine detail of the artist's handiwork. Feather details and the way the ripples were painted are truly remarkable. See another painting by the artist in my shop, of a male and female duck pair, AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS OF ART including other duck-related art. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
