This is a small landscape oil on masonite landscape of a house on a Goleta (Santa Barbara area) hillside in California, 5" by 7" and modern 2" wide frame, signed at lower right "CARL BARKS" and titled on reverse ""GOLETA HILLSIDE #3", and "8-71". The painting is a work by world famous cartoon artist CARL BARKS (1901-2000), known as perhaps the most famous Disney "duck artist". He has a worldwide following and avid fans to this day. In a 2007 auction of his paintings and drawings at Bonhams and Butterfields auction house in Los Angeles, one painting of his brought over $200,000. Barks toiled for years at Disney without recognition, and it was only late in his life that the artist behind "Uncle Scrooge" and was discovered for who he was. Interest in that auction came from bidders all over the world. Barks has quite a following. This work is not subject matter for which he is famous, but, if you are a fan and would simply like to own something authentic by this famous artist, then consider the painting.
