Lithograph on paper of a clipper ship, 12 1/4" by 9 1/2" (20" by 17" as framed), signed by the noted marine illustrator, painter and etcher/lithographer GORDON HOPE GRANT (1875-1962). Grant was born in San Francisco but is associated with the northeastern part of the country, his marine paintings now eagerly sought out by dealers and collectors. Condition: some mold is on the glass, (and some yellow-brown areas like near the bird in sky are actually on the inside of the glass), and there is light foxing and moderate age toning of the paper. At bottom left the photos indicate soiling; I believe this might well be on the inside of the glass; study the photos. The inexpensive mid 20th century frame is broken at left and should be replaced.
