Watercolor on paper panoramic view of Mt. Fuji in Japan with a river, small houses and foreground hills, measuring 13 1/2" by 19 1/2" and narrow gold wood frame, signed at lower left "Hiroshi". This is a pleasing, decorative work likely dating to the mid twentieth century. I thought there was a possibility that this was by Hiroshi Yoshida but now after various inquiries do not think this to be the case. Oil on wood panel, 9 3/8" by 13", unframed, signed at lower left by artist I. Izumi, and inscribed in flowing Japanese calligraphy on reverse (sorry, my Japanese calligraphy skills are lacking). This is a fine little oil by a competent artist indeed. The brushstrokes are bold yet sure---for example, in the branches of the foreground trees.
