This is a PAIR of Dutch drawings on toned paper, laid on a board, each 13" by 19" plus old French matting a few inches wide, unframed, each signed at lower right "L. Verschuier 1653" in an old hand. Puzzled by the pair, I sent images to the Sotheby's New York auction house Old Master specialists. They said that the drawings were likely 18th century works for some reason bearing the signature of Lieve Pietersz Verschuier (c. 1630-1656), a 17th century important Dutch artist.
