ADRIAAN TERHELL (1863-1949) Dutch art watercolor boats at the coast

$195 USD Offers ConsideredADRIAAN TERHELL (1863-1949) Dutch art watercolor boats at the coast

Fine Art:Drawings:Dutch Art
Watercolor on paper, 14 1/2" by 10 1/2" and 3" margins/frame on all sides, signed at lower left by the artist, ADRIAAN CHRISTIAN W. TERHELL. Terhell was a Dutch artist and windmills and canals are often the subjects of his works. This one shows a beached simple sailing craft at the beach at low tide, other boats visible in the background. There appears to be a date below the signature; I believe it says "43". On the reverse is a sticker from a Dutch gallery in Gravenhage. The artist's works ...
Dutch signed 1890 watercolor classic painting of canal and windmills

$225 USD Offers ConsideredDutch signed 1890 watercolor classic painting of canal and windmills

Fine Art:Drawings:Dutch Art
This is a pleasing little 19th century European watercolor on paper, signed at lower left rather illegibly, and dated 1890, measuring 6" by 8 1/4" (14" by 16" as framed), showing a canal with windmill and keeper's house, two small sailing craft, and a rowboat at lower right with two figures. I think the signature reads "L. J. S. Dey" or something similar, but I can't seem to come up with a listing for such a name or anything similar, so, I'll sell this based on its high decorative value. The ...
PAIR of circa 18th century Dutch detailed watercolor landscape drawings, subject identified as

$2,250 USD Offers ConsideredPAIR of circa 18th century Dutch detailed watercolor landscape drawings, subject identified as Amersfoort

Fine Art:Drawings:Dutch Art:Old Masters
This is a PAIR of Dutch drawings on toned paper, laid on a board, each 13" by 19" plus old French matting a few inches wide, unframed, each signed at lower right "L. Verschuier 1653" in an old hand. Puzzled by the pair, I sent images to the Sotheby's New York auction house Old Master specialists. They said that the drawings were likely 18th century works for some reason bearing the signature of Lieve Pietersz Verschuier (c. 1630-1656), a 17th century important Dutch artist. That specialist did ...
