Lustrous spotted natural tortoise shell Shell veneer over a fragrant sandal wood carcass. Entirely decorated with hand-cut intricate Antique Ivory fretwork; held together with silver pins.
The domed top-lid features a very unusual silver monogram.
The casket stands on four skillfully carved ivory lion paw feet.
In very good condition throughout.
Extremely decorative casket; would make a superb stamp box.
Dating from circa 1880.
