This is a fantastic miniature portrait. Simply fabulous. Please use the zoom to truly enjoy. Remember, miniatures were often given as tokens of remembrance, love and affection. Her soft and innocent gaze is captivating. Notice the regal splendor of her attire...She is believed to be French. ??Painted on ivory. The outside frame measures 7" wide by 8 5/8" high and the inside frame measures 3 3/4" wide and 5" high. Age has given her some mild flaking...again, please use the zoom feature. She has a quality that makes you keep coming back to her. I have not taken her out of the main frame inspect for a signature on the back.
