Aside from being a knife rest, this is a fantastic art object. The hand-carved essence lends this item a quality that no-longer exists in a mass manufactured world. You can see the slightly uneven carve marks in the grooves between the dumbbells and on the dumbbells themselves. Tres cool! c.1850. France. Measures 6.5" long and 2" high.
