An elegant late eighteenth century cube-shaped Georgian tea caddy of superb quality. The fleur-de-lis brass joints lend the box a visual ideal of strength and beauty. The veneer has a deep ox-blood/brier root feel. I am not sure what kind of wood it is. It's condition is excellent. It was found in England, and of course that meant the brass was polished...except one side was missed. The pin sits nicely in the lock and the lock works.
