Cobalt Blue Persian Medallion by Fenton

Persian Medallion was produced by Fenton from the turn of the century through 1925. The pattern has a definite Oriental flavor with its detailed rings of embroidered medallions. Fenton produced this piece with a number of different edge effects which include a rather plain scalloped edge, Pie Crust edge which is a flat ruffled edge, a ruffled edge that is a signature edge for Fenton and then they went all out and produced it in this 3 in one edge.

This particular bowl is the larger 10 and as I have already mentioned it has the fancy 3 in one edge. The Persian Medallion was one of Fentons most popular patterns and collectors have not lost their enthusiasm for this beautiful design almost 100 years later.

Our bowl is in excellent condition without any nicks, chips or cracks. Inside the collar on the base is a tiny air bubble and a straw mark that can not be seen when you turn the bowl over but if you twist it in the right light you can see it.

The colors in this bowl are dark and exceptionally rich. The base color is cobalt blue which always lends itself to the darker spectrum of color including copper, deep green, purple and rust.

This bowl with its size, 3 in one edge, rich color and extravagant pattern; will be an excellent addition to any collection.
