Antiques : Ceramics, Porcelain : Limoges : France : Depose : Ovington Brothers : Plates
Pleased to offer this Circa. 1887-1909 set of plates for Ovington Brothers of NYC. Ovington Brothers was a very high end store specializing in fine imported European porcelain and glass ware. The Ovington Brothers stamp was a sign of the highest quality available. The last of The brothers Theodore and Edward passed away within 2 months of each other in 1909. The store continued on and later shortened it's name to just "Ovington's". Items marked with "Ovington Bros." are pre 1920. The plates are marked; France, Depose, Ovington Bros. New York, Fabriqu`e A` Limoges, Patented. Ivory porcelain with pink roses, yellow flowers and greenery with a blue border, (see the close up pictures). The plates have an inner gold ring along with the outer rims. They measure 8 1/2" and are in very good condition. One plate shows some skips, wear to the inner gold ring, See picture. The other 5 are excellent. Very pretty pattern.
