Pottery Flower Box by Mid Century Modern Designer Ed Langbein

We offer a pottery flower box by the mid century modern designer Ed Langbein. Langbein In addition to being a designer, produced his own lines of decorative items and tableware through his company, Edward E. Langbein Giftware in Brooklyn, NY between the late 1930's and early 1960's. His designs were produced in Italy and marked 'ED LANGBEIN ORIGINAL ITALY'. Some of his work is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and he was part of the 1957 exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum in NYC entitled 'Table Settings: The Old With The New' along with the works of such noted designer's; Russel Wright, Raymond Loewy and Eva Zeisel.

The flower box is finished in a soft cream color with black accents. The box measures 5 1/2" in length, 3 1/2" in width and 2 1/2" deep. I have a number of the flower boxes available and all of them are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. All are embossed on the bottoms with: 'ED LANGBEIN ORIGINAL ITALY'.
