Leigh Potters Leigh Ware Partial Dinnerware Set 1926 -1931 'Hollywood'

We are pleased to offer this partial set of dinnerware by Leigh Potters of Alliance, Ohio. Leigh Potters started out in 1926 after purchasing the Crescent China company factory. The company manufactured dinnerware, kitchenware and a line of decorative pieces called Leigh art ware. The great depression took it's toll on the company and it closed it's doors in the early 1930's. The bright cheery pattern is named 'Hollywood' and features a sunny yellow ribbed trim with bright floral center design. This depression era dinnerware set has some art deco lines as seen in the sugar bowl lid and the deep ribbed lines on the plates rims. The pieces are all marked with the Leigh potters mark and 'Leigh Ware' on the bottoms.

The set includes: (2) oval platters measuring 11 1/4" by 8 3/4"

(5) Salad plates measuring 7 1/4"

(2) small oval platters measuring 8 1/4" by 6 1/2"

(1) Covered sugar bowl

(8) cups

(2) saucers

(5) cereal bowls measuring 6"

(5) bread and butter plates measuring 6 1/2"

(4) dinner plates measuring 9 1/2"

(6) soup bowls measuring 8 1/4"

(1) Lug handle gravy bowl measuring 7"

(1) gravy bowl under plate measuring 8".

The set totals 42 pieces. There are no chips or cracks with only minimal age appropriate crazing to some of the pieces. There is light utensil mark wear to a the floral decal on a few pieces but it's not major. The set is really in wonderful condition and the colors are fantastic!
