Antique Iron Case Ansonia Mantle Clock with Faux Wood Finish

Here is a wonderful late 19c iron case mantle clock by the Ansonia clock company of New York. The iron has a faux wood finish with brass fittings. almost all of the gilding has worn away on the brass. This clock looks to be completely original. It comes with the original key that is embossed Ansonia. The clock is not running at present but does chime nicely. The pendulum is present. The front has a very nice beveled glass door and the clock face is porcelain. There is a small crack in the face between the 6 and 7. The clock works are marked Ansonia, New York, and have a patent date of 1882. The mantle clock measures 10 1/4" long by 5" wide and 10 5/8" tall. This is a wonderful candidate for restoration and would be a real show piece once finished.
